!!!Vittorio Veneto

Vittorio Veneto, town in Venetia, where, in the course of an offensive
started on October 24, 1918, Italian and British troops broke
through the Austrian-Hungarian front line on October 29; this
resulted in the disintegration and dissolution of the
k. u. k. army. Vittorio Veneto consequently became a symbol
for the Italian victory in the First World War.
