Mit [Franz Xaver Süßmayer|AEIOU/Süßmayer,_Franz_Xaver] in Kremsmünster befreundet; ging 1786 mit diesem nach Wien, 1795-1822 an der Wiener Hofoper; Förderer und Freund [Franz Schuberts|AEIOU/Schubert,_Franz_Peter], sang viele seiner Lieder zum ersten Mal. Ihm sind Schuberts Lieder Opus 6 gewidmet.
