Member of the literary group in the Vienna "Silbernes Kaffeehaus"; contributed to and published numerous almanachs and pocket books ("Oesterreichisches Wunderhorn", 1834). Many of his ballads were written in Viennese late-Romantic style (e.g. "Heinrich der Vogler", "Das Erkennen") and set to music by C. Loewe, some by F.
