Vorau Manuscript (Vorauer Handschrift), medieval collection of 
manuscripts (end of the 12%%sup th/%  century) in Vorau Abbey 
(cod. 276); includes the "Kaiserchronik" (imperial 
chronicle, comprises the first part of the Vorau Manuscript, oldest 
work of history in German) and has intricate animal figures as initial 
letters.
