Vorsaess, term for a meadow (also: Alm, alpine pasture, alp) in the 
Bregenzerwald Mountain Region and in Walsertal Valley in the province 
of Vorarlberg where hay is harvested only once; used for grazing from 
the end of May until the end of June and from mid-September until 
mid-October; this method shows some characteristics of a nomadic 
culture.
