b. Rottenmann (Styria), Nov. 1, 1842, 
d. Graz (Styria), March 2, 1896, priest and politician. Ordination in 
1865; founded the first Catholic workers' educational society in 1869; 
member of the Landtag of Styria from 1878-1886; appointed canon of 
Graz-Seckau in 1888.
