b. Constance (Germany), Sept. 18, 1820, 
d. Salzburg, Oct. 8, 1902, copperplate engraver, photographer and 
photograph publisher. Owner of the largest 19th century Austrian 
publishing company of landscape photos; worked with G. Baldi and 
others, entered into a partnership with his son F. Wuerthle in 1892. 
Transferred the seat of his company to Vienna in 1905; sold it in 
1912.
