b. Uni&#269;ov, Czech Republic (then Maehrisch-Neustadt), March 17, 1875, 
d. Vienna, March 12, 1945, law graduate and German Nationalist 
politician. President of the German People&acute;s League and vice 
president of the Association of Civil Servants; 1911-1918 member of 
the Reichsrat, Oct. 1918-1930 member of the Nationalrat (1926-1930 3rd 
president), 1918-1919 subordinate Staatssekretaer in the Foreign 
Ministry, 1921-1922 Federal Minister of the Interior and of Education, 
1922-1923 Federal Minister of Justice and 1924-1926 Vice-Chancellor 
(with responsibility for justice).
