b. Schruns (Vorarlberg), Feb. 12, 1967, skier. Gold medallist at the 
1988 Olympic Games in Calgary in combination, world cup winner 1990 in 
giant slalom and combination, 1992/1993 overall world cup winner, 
1993/1994 world cup winner and 1998/1999 second in the giant slalom 
world cup. Numerous further victories in the Olympic Games, world 
championships and world cup races. Retired from racing in 2001.
