Wagener, Hilde, b. Hanover (Germany), Sept. 26, 1904, 
d. Baden (Lower Austria), Dec. 26, 1992, 
Kammerschauspielerin. From 1924 member of the Burgtheater company for 
over 65 years (honorary member); film star of the 1930s (films include 
"Brennendes Geheimnis" with W.  Forst, 1933); during the Nazi era was 
banned from performing. Returned to the stage in 1945; founded the 
campaign "Artists Help Artists" and initiated the foundation of the 
retirement home for artists in Baden which bears her name.
