Wald am Schoberpass, Styria, municipality in the district of Leoben, 
alt. 841 m, pop. 746, area 90.45 km%%sup 2/%, at the 
watershed of the Palten Valley and the Liesing Valley. - Small power 
station; timber trade, transport firms, metal-working industry, 
tourism; A 9 motorway with 3 km long tunnel. - Gothic parish 
church (first documented mention 1402, extension 1784-1788) with choir 
frescoes (1789) by J. Lederwasch and late-Gothic murals (discovered in 
1972), bishop´s statue (around 1510-1520); the Protestant parish 
church (1784, newly built in 1829) is one of the oldest in Styria.
