Waldkirchen an der Thaya, Lower Austria, market town in the district 
of Waidhofen an der Thaya, alt. 478 m, pop. 758, area 
42.73 km%%sup 2/%, on the Feinitzbach stream, close to where it 
joins the River Thaya, in the northern Waldviertel region. - Customs 
authority department; recreational and leisure area by the Sauerteich 
lake. - Parish church with Baroque alterations, Romanesque core and 
Baroque high altar (1716), charnel (1773); weaving museum; Iglau 
memorial at cemetery, monuments at Fratres for ethnic Germans expelled 
from Jihlava and Slavonice in 1945; doll museum at Rudolz.
