Waldmann, Kaspar, b. Innsbruck (Tyrol), July 15, 1657,
d. Innsbruck (Tyrol), Nov. 18, 1720, fresco and decoration
painter of the early Baroque in Tyrol. Son of Michael W. the Elder;
along with his nephew Johann Josef W. (1672-1712) played a major role
in the development of trompe l´oeil ceiling painting in Tirol.

Frescoes: Mariahilf church in Innsbruck, 1689; monastery at
Wilten, 1702-1707; Sternbach palace in Muehlau, around 1720; large
hall in the Imperial Palace in Innsbruck, 1711 (with Johann Josef W.,
not preserved); Chapel of the Servite Church Volders, 1697; Prince
Archbishop's Palace in Brixen/Bressanone, 1708; Convent Hall, 1716
(summer house). - Altar paintings in Brixlegg.
