Waldstein, Count Ferdinand, b. Vienna, March 24, 1762, 
d. Vienna, May 26, 1823. Landowner and composer. Was one of the 
most significant patrons of L. van  Beethoven, who dedicated his piano 
sonata in C-major op. 53 ("W.-Sonata") to him. W. composed a 
symphony and three solo cantatas.
