d. Innsbruck (Tyrol), March 15, 1989. Secretary of the Chamber of 
Agriculture and politician (Austrian People´s Party, OeVP). 
1963-1987 provincial chairman of the OeVP, 1949-1987 member of the 
Landtag of Tyrol, 1949-1963 Landesrat, 1963-1987 Landeshauptmann of 
Tyrol. During his term of office Tyrol saw steady economic growth; 
very popular as a caring and committed politician.
