Walter, Gustav, b. Bilina, Czech Republic (then Bilin), 
Feb. 11, 1834, d. Vienna, Jan. 31, 1910. Singer (lyric 
tenor), performed mainly Mozart works. 1856-1887 at the Imperial Opera 
House in Vienna. In 1887 retired from the stage, then performed in 
concerts, sang lieder (mainly Schubert lieder).
