Wartberg an der Krems, Upper Austria, market town in the district of 
Kirchdorf an der Krems, alt. 385 m, pop. 2,612, area 
31.55 km%%sup 2/%, in the Kremstal valley. - Large central branch 
of the warehouse cooperative, dairy, manufacture of plastic window 
frames; wood-working industry. - Late-Gothic parish church (first 
documented mention 1083), Gothic one-pillar structure with reticulated 
rib vaulting, Baroque interior with altars displaying gnarled 
ornaments (17%%sup th/%  century), 2 Gothic reliefs of the Virgin Mary 
(2%%sup nd/%  half of the 15%%sup th/%  century) and remains of a 
winged altar (8 altar paintings, around 1470); ossuary chapel (1527) 
with Baroque alterations; parsonage (1678).
