Wartberg im Muerztal, Styria, municipality in the district of 
Muerzzuschlag, alt. 584 m, pop. 2,378, area 
23.71 km%%sup 2/%, at the entry of the Spregnitz depression into 
the Muerztal valley. - Thermal engineering factory, agricultural 
machinery factory ( Vogel & Noot Holding AG). -Ruins of Lichtenegg 
fortress (built 14%%sup th/%  -15%%sup th/%  century, fell into disuse 
in the 18%%sup th/%  century); parish church (first documented mention 
1407, rebuilt in 1730/31 by R. Horner) with Baroque statues.
