Wasmann, Erich, b. Meran/Merano (South Tyrol), May 29, 1859, 
d. Valkenswaard (Netherlands), Feb. 27, 1931. Entomologist, animal 
psychologist ("ant priest"), Jesuit. Created the discipline of 
myrmecophilia (co-habitation of ants), fought the biologistic monism 
of E. Haeckel.
