Watzlawick, Paul, b. Villach (Carinthia), July 27, 1921. 
Psychologist specialising in communication and social psychology. 
1950-1954 worked at the C. G. Jung Institute for Analytical 
Psychology in Zurich, 1957-1959 university professor in El Salvador, 
from 1960 member of the Mental Research Institute, Palo Alto (USA), as 
well as lecturer at Stanford University (USA) from 1967. Influential 
representative of constructivist social psychology, that focuses on 
relativising elements of social events by analysing the connections 
between them.
