Weiss, Ferdinand, b. Vienna, June 6, 1933. Composer, theatre 
orchestra conductor. 1967-1975 teacher at the Vienna Conservatory; 
from 1972-1997 director of the Lower Austrian Group of Composers; 
founded a series of concerts of contemporary music in Lower Austria in 
1973, which in 1989 became the "Zeitgenoessischer Herbst"; from 
1989-1997 chairman of the Interest Group of Lower Austrian Composers.
