Weistuemer (also called Taidinge), established customary law of a
manorial property (a village); laid down and pronounced at the village
assembly (Taiding) in the late Middle Ages, written records from the
14%%sup th/% /15%%sup th/% centuries. Collections of Weistuemer
exist in many rural areas throughout the Austrian provinces; they were
produced by interaction between the lords of the manor and the
community of the vassals and often by consulting trustworthy village
elders.
