and politician (Austrian People's Party, OeVP). Provincial party 
secretary from 1951 to 1968; Upper Austrian party chairman from 1968 
to 1977; member of the Landtag of Upper Austrian from 1955 to 1977; 
Landesrat from 1955 to 1971; Landeshauptmann of Upper Austria from 
1971 to 1977; 1977-1989 managing director of the Upper Austrian 
Kraftwerke AG.
