!!!Werner, Gregor Joseph

b. Ybbs an der Donau (Lower Austria), Jan. 28, 1693, 
d. Eisenstadt (Burgenland), March 3, 1766, composer. Organist in Melk 
(1715/16), conductor at the court of Prince Paul II Anton  
Esterházy in Eisenstadt in 1728, where he set up the prince's 
orchestra which was taken over by J.  Haydn as deputy-conductor in 
1761, while W., who remained first conductor (Oberhofkapellmeister), 
was responsible for sacred music.

Neuer und sehr curios-musicalischer Instrumental-Calender, 
1748; Zwey neue und extralustige musical. Tafel-Stuecke. - Sacred 
music, oratories, chamber music, partita, concertos for organ and 
piano.
