d. Vienna, April 20, 1998, musicologist. Professor at the University 
of Graz from 1963 to 1971; at the University of Vienna from 1972 to 
1993. Editor of the publications "Denkmaeler der Tonkunst in 
Oesterreich" from 1974; from 1982-1998 chairman of the Commission of 
Musical Studies at the Austrian Academy for Sciences and academic head 
of the A.-Bruckner Institute in Linz.
