Wildermieming, Tirol, municipality in the district of Innsbruck Land, 
alt. 872 m, pop. 684, area 31.24 km%%sup 2/%, on the Mieming 
Plateau; summer tourism (55,702 overnight stays in 1992). Situated at 
the southern foot of the Mieming Mountains, famous as a Christmas crib 
village. - First documented mention 1284; parish church (first 
documented mention 1352, present construction 1754) with classicistic 
high altar (around 1830) and one of the largest frescoes of St. 
Christopher in Tirol; houses with façade frescoes; chapels.
