b. Vienna, April 18, 1929, poet, essayist, translator, author of radio 
plays. Secretary general of the Austrian Writers' Association and the 
Grillparzer Society for many years; published numerous essays about 
Austrian writers; participated in compiling anthologies on Austrian 
literature ("Die Barke", 1962; "Das zeitlose Wort", 1964) and 
reference books on literary history; author of literary radio series.
