b. Korneuburg (Lower Austria), 1771, 
d. Vienna, March 30, 1844; physician. Army surgeon, then Professor at 
the University of Vienna. Helped to make  Bad Ischl a popular health 
resort; founded the first Austrian saltwater baths there.
