Wittmann, Franz, b. St. Poelten (Lower Austria), April 7, 1950, 
rally driver. 11-time Austrian champion; 1978 runner-up to the 
European champion; became the first Austrian to win an international 
world rally championship, in Neuseeland in 1987. Won a total of 
75 international rallys. Retired from racing in 1993; made a 
successful comeback in 2000.
