b. Brno, Czech Republic (then Bruenn), March 27, 1865, 
d. Vienna, March 10, 1930, physiologist, neurologist. 1922 head of the 
newly founded detoxification centre for alcoholics in Vienna "Am 
Steinhof"; studied the anatomy of the cerebellum and the physiology of 
the senses, especially the senses of balance and orientation. 
Significantly supported the workers' temperance movement.
