b. Berlin (Germany), Jan. 1, 1881, 
d. Vienna, May 30, 1972, Court actress. Married Count E. 
Thun-Hohenstein in 1918; acted at the Vienna  Burgtheater from 
1910-1938 and from 1945-1959 (honorary member in 1934, awarded the 
Burgtheater ring in 1935), appeared at the Salzburg Festival in 1922 
and 1925; an outstanding actress with the traditional repertoire (109 
roles), mostly in the role of the tragic leading lady; later on 
equally successful in comedies; lived in exile from 1938-1945.
