b. Vienna, 1751, 
d. Vienna, July 30, 1823, civil servant. Worked for the municipality 
of Vienna from 1771; Mayor of Vienna from Oct. 30, 1804 to his death; 
During his time of office, the French twice occupied Vienna (1805 and 
1809). The national bankruptcy following these occupations confronted 
the municipality of Vienna with huge burdens caused by intensified 
police-work and increased care for the poor.
