b. Schaerding (Upper Austria), Sept. 4, 1846, 
d. Eferding (Upper Austria), Dec. 25, 1938, collector of folk songs 
and promoter of Upper Austrian vernacular literature, especially of 
the works of F.  Stelzhamer. In 1873 founded the Stelzhammer 
Association together with A. Matosch and H. Commenda, with whom he 
also edited a series of publications called "Aus da Hoamat" from 1885.
