d. Illenau near Baden-Baden (Germany), Aug. 9, 1916, historian. 
Professor at the University of Bratislava in 1859/60, civil servant at 
the Joanneum, the Styrian provincial museum at Graz, from 1861, 
director of the provincial archives of Styria from 1868-1904. Official 
historian of the Province of Styria, collected and published source 
material on the history of Styria and Friuli.
