Schaerding, alt. 367 m, pop. 2,015, 
area 23.37 km%%sup 2/%, in the Innviertel region. - 
Provincial education centre (in the palace); tree nurseries, metal 
processing, blackboard factory. - Parish church (documented mention 
955), built by F. de Cuvillies the Younger 1771-1777, frescoes by F. 
Froehlich (1953); palace, formerly moated castle, altered 1709-1712 
and enlarged by F. de Cuvillies 1760-1774, frescoes by C. Wink (1772) 
and J. D. Stuber.
