Zeltweg, Styria, town in the district of Judenburg, 
alt. 659 m, pop. 8,189, 
area 8.73 km%%sup 2/%, industrial centre and traffic 
junction at the confluence of the rivers Poels and Mur/Mura, between 
Knittelfeld and Judenburg. - Hinterstoisser air base of the Austrian 
Federal Armed Forces, youth and communication centre, Volksheim 
cultural centre, Aichfeldhalle (sports centre), HTBLA federal 
advanced-level school of engineering; gallery, exhibition and seminar 
centre in Farrach Palace, thermal power station (built 1962, 
137 MW) of the Austrian Draukraftwerke power stations; approx. 3 
km north-east of Zeltweg is the  A1-Ring, a 4.3 km long 
automobile and motorcycle racing court, is situated about 3 km 
north-east of Zeltweg. 4,352 people employed (1991), about 61 % 
of whom in industry (railway systems and mining technology, plastics 
processing, paper production and processing) and manufacturing; 
service sector mainly dominated by personal, social and public 
services. Town status since 1966. - Neo-Gothic parish church 
(1904-1906); Protestant church of St. John (1908); Farrach Palace 
(first documented mention 1340, present building dating from about 
1660).
