Zilling Valley, Burgenland, municipality in the district of 
Eisenstadt-Umgebung, alt. 231 m, pop. 615, 
area 13.12 km%%sup 2/%, in the Wulkatal valley, southwest of 
Eisenstadt; mostly commuters. - Settlement already started in the New 
Stone Age and continued up to Roman Times; Avar grave finds from the 
8%%sup th/%  and 9%%sup th/%  centuries; documented mention 1271, 
destroyed 1529 and 1683, re-settled by Croats (1991: about 37 % 
of the population gave Croatian as their language of habitual use); 
large Baroque parish church (1659) with Rococo interior.
