b. Meran/Merano (South Tyrol), Nov. 25, 1935, writer and journalist. 
Worked for several Austrian newspapers and the radio station RAI in 
Bozen/Bolzano; lives in Terenten (South Tyrol). In his novels he uses 
journeys and changes of location as a starting point for dealing with 
the different ways his characters perceive their identity 
("Dauerhaftes Morgenrot", 1987).
