!!!Zwischenwässern

Zwischenwaessern Area, Carinthia, district of St. Veit an der Glan, 
does not refer to a single community but to an area located between 
the rivers Metnitz and Gurk. The actual settlement is called 
Poeckstein-Zwischenwaessern and is part of the cadastral district of 
St. Georgen, at the confluence of the rivers Metnitz and Gurk, in the 
municipality of Strassburg. - Parish church (documented mention 1043) 
with Romanesque core, late Gothic vestry tower and Romanesque stepped 
portal; Romanesque filial church; Poeckstein Castle (built by 
J. G. Hagenauer 1778-1782), residence of the prince bishops of 
Gurk between 1783 and 1790, castle chapel with life-size wooden 
crucifix (around 1800), state rooms with late Rococo or Empire 
interior; remains of the Poeckstein castle ruins.
