profil, news magazine, published for the first time on 
September 7, 1970, founded by O.  Bronner. From October 1972 
until January 1974 profil came out bi-weekly, since then it has been 
published weekly. The magazine is now owned by the Wirtschafts-Trend 
Zeitschriftenverlagsgesellschaft m.b.H., a 100 % subsidiary 
of the Zeitschriften Verlagsbeteiligungsaktiengesellschaft (ZVB) of 
the "Kurier" group. Published by C. Rainer since 1998. 
Circulation (1999): 160,000.
