steirischer herbst festival, avant-garde festival in Graz, founded in 
1968. Various premières, internationally acclaimed exhibitions, 
films, concerts, workshops and publications. In terms of sculpture and 
painting, the festival focuses on video and performance art. The 
programme also integrates other Styrian regions outside the provincial 
capital; around 60,000 visitors every year.
