| This baroque church was built in 1665. Wilten Abbey consists of the Collegiate Church and the monastery. The first monastery on this site came about in 878AD. The legend is that a fight broke out between two giants, the local Tyrsus and a Germanic immigrant, Haymon. Haymon caused the death of Tyrsus and as atonement he is said to have built the monastery in Wilten.| Austria-01460 - Inside Wilten Abbey| Dennis Jarvis from Halifax, Canada| [{Image src='https://www.austria-forum.org/cc/images/slim/by-sa.png' alt='CC BY-SA 2.0' align='center' link='https://www.austria-forum.org/cc/by-sa-20.html' target='_blank'}]| Datei:Austria-01460 - Inside Wilten Abbey (21402713753).jpg
