Mauritius [{GoogleMap location='Mauritius' zoom='7'}]ist ein Inselstaat im Südwesten des Indischen Ozeans ungefähr 2.000 Kilometer südöstlich von Afrika. Neben der Hauptinsel Mauritius mit der Hauptstadt Port Louis zählen Rodrigues [{GoogleMap location='Rodrigues' zoom='6'}], Agaléga [{GoogleMap location='Agaléga' zoom='6'}] undn das winzige St. Brandon [{GoogleMap location='St. Brandon, Mauritius' zoom='6'}] zum Staatsgebiet. Im Folgenden zeigen die ersten 14 Bilder ein typisches schönes Strandhotel im SW der Insel und Ausblicke von dort. Die Bilder 15- 41 sind von einer Tagestour der Insel die geschickt verbirgt dass die Bevölkerungsdichte von 650 per km%%sup 2/%  einen Großteile der Insel massiv bevölkert hat. Der Rest der Bilder sind von einer Wanderung am frühen Morgen um der Hitze zu entgehen im Black River Gorges National Park.

Mauritius [{GoogleMap location='Mauritius' zoom='7'}] is an island nation in the Indian Ocean some 2,000 kilometres off the southeast coast of  Africa. The country includes the islands of Mauritius and Rodrigues [{GoogleMap location='Rodrigues' zoom='6'}], Agaléga [{GoogleMap location='Agaléga' zoom='6'}] and tiny St. Brandon [{GoogleMap location='St. Brandon, Mauritius' zoom='6'}]. The capital and largest city is Port Louis. Mauritius is a member of the Commonwealth of Nations and the African Union. In what follows the first 14 pictures show a typical beachhotel in the SW part of the islands and views from it, pictures 15- 41 are from a one-day tour of the island, the remainder are pictures from an early morning hike in Black River Gorges National Park. With a population density exceeding 650 per km%%sup 2/% the island is very highly populated but clever routing on an excursion and the national park do not show this much to tourists.
