Altun Ha is a significant archaeological site 50 km (30 mi) north of Belize City that covers an area of about 14 sq km (5.5 sq mi). The locale was a major Maya commercial center and was occupied for almost two millennia (from roughly 900 B.C. to A.D. 1000, reaching its zenith between A.D. 400 and 900).

The central part of Altun Ha contains the remains of about 500 structures. Two main plazas with many temples and residential structures have been excavated.
