1930 kam das eng mit der Universität kooperierende 'Institute for Advanced Studies' dazu, das sich nicht der Lehre, sondern ausnahmslos der freien Forschung widmet – mit Schwerpunkt Mathematik, Physik und Wirtschaftstheorie. Bekannt wurde es als letzte Wirkungsstätte von Albert Einstein und Kurt Gödel.

In 1930, the Institute for Advanced Studies, which cooperates closely with the University, was founded, which does not have a focus on teaching, but without exception on free research - with a special focus on mathematics, physics and economic theory.
