The USS Midway Museum is a maritime museum [{GoogleMap location='32.7137443,-117.1773152' zoom='12'}] located in downtown San Diego at Navy Pier. The museum consists of the aircraft carrier Midway and houses an extensive collection of aircraft. The USS Midway was America's longest-serving aircraft carrier (1945 - 1992) and is now berthed in San Diego serving as a museum (opened on June 7, 2004). The museum hosts more than 700 events a year and is, as of 2015, the most popular naval warship museum in the United States.
