The theater [{GoogleMap location='34.04053,-118.259127' zoom='12'}] opened in August 1927 and is a good example of the excessive ornate exotic revival-style in the 1920, in this case Mayan Revival. Once a legitimate theater it became a nightclub in 1990. It is designated as a Historic Cultural Monument and was originally designed for musicals.
