Pensacola Beach [{GoogleMap location='30.332222,-87.141667' zoom='6'}] is an unincorporated community located on Santa Rosa Island, a barrier island, in Escambia County in Florida. It covers an area of 11.561 sq mi (29.943 sq km) and has a population of 2,738 (as of the 2000 census). Pensacola Beach occupies land bound by a 1947 deed from the United States Department of Interior that it be administered in the public interest by the county or leased, but never "disposed", so basically its businesses and residents are long-term leaseholders and not property owners.
