Myanmar, even though being quite rich of mineral resources still has little infrastructure for their industrial exploitation – but Chinese investors are planning big things. But today mining is often still being undertaken in tiny family enterprises. The locals dig through the area rich with copper like moles. The copper is dissolved in toxic caustic soda and deposits on scrap iron. This procedure allows for the family to live a modest life, but it is seriously harmful to their health.
