Versteckt in einem Wald hoch über dem Flusstal liegt das Kloster Sapara[{GoogleMap location='Sapara, Georgia' zoom='12'}] aus dem 9. Jahrhundert. Von den ursprünglich 12 Kirchen haben drei die Zeiten überdauert, darunter die Bischofskirche in typischer Kreuzkuppelform.

Hidden in a wood high above the river valley lies the monastery Sapara[{GoogleMap location='Sapara, Georgia' zoom='12'}]  dating back to the 9th century. Out of 12 churches only 3 have survived until now, one of them is the bishopschurch in the typical cross-in-square shape.
